Men’s Swimming & Diving Tops Towson, Pivots Quickly to Georgetown and Senior Day

TOWSON, Md. – GW swimming & diving visited Towson on Friday as the Revolutionaries' men's team topped the Tigers, 168-131 (men's), while the women's team drew Towson, 150-150.
Men's Highlights

Holden Wheeler set a new career-best with an NCAA Zone score in his 3-meter board victory (326.93). Ben Bradley and Michael Wood each also earned an NCAA Zone score, Bradley in the 3-meter (321.45) and Wood in the 1-meter dive (319.65).

The Revolutionaries won the 400-yard medley relay to set the tone early. The relay was swam by Ganesh Sivaramakrishnan, Alessandro Borsato, Daniel Nagy and AJ Wood (3:14.14).

Daniel Choi came out on top in the 1,650-yard freestyle (15:30.83). Choi later swept the distance events with a win in the 500-yard free (4:30.49), narrowly edging teammate Heitor Napolitano Fonseca Reis (4:30.49).

Matija Radjenovic (1:38.57), Napolitano Fonseca Reis (1:38.66) and Gage Boushee (1:40.76) finished first-third in the 200-yard freestyle, respectively. Radjenovic (1:50.96) raced to the top again when he led a second top-three sweep in the 200-yard IM, trailed by Sosnowski (1:52.15) and Boushee (1:52.44).

Ganesh Sivaramakrishnan pushed his way to victory in the 100-yard backstroke (48.33).

Andres Brooks (1:46.55) and Justin Dostal (1:50.50) closed the 200-yard fly in first and second place, respectively.

Daniel Nagy added a win for the Buff & Blue with a first-place result in the 100-yard free (45.47).

Nagy (48.46) secured another win, topping the field in the 100-yard fly, with Brooks (48.79) and Artur Tobler (49.07) behind in second and third place.
Women's Highlights

Olivia Paquette (268.88) and Jadin Brown (267.83) finished first and second in the 1-meter dive, respectively, both earning NCAA Zone scores. In the 3-meter dive, Paquette (295.73) finished in second and Dara Reyblat (292.28) finished in third, each with NCAA Zone scores.

GW opened the meet with a win in the 400-yard medley relay, swam by Logan Watson-Brown, Natalie Sens, Isabel Sayag and Joselle Mensah (3:47.49).

Ava Topolewski cashed in wins in the 1,650-yard freestyle (16:28.52). Later on, Topolewski rose to the occasion again when she won the 500-yard freestyle (4:50.19). First-year swimmer Talya Erdogan finished in second place in both the 1,650-yard free (16:41.09) and the 500-yard free (4:51.75).

Natalie Sens tapped in ahead of the competition for a win in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:03.80).

Isabel Sayag set the pace with a win in the 200-yard fly (2:03.38).

Colleen MacWilliams (2:05.29) and Ellie Lydon (2:06.00) bested the field with first and second place finishes in the 200-yard IM.

GW's 200-yard free relay edged Towson by .04 seconds to help seal the meet with another win, swam by Mia Hren, Mensah, Sens and Topolewski (1:33.48).
UP NEXT
GW begins its dual meet vs. Georgetown with diving on Friday night at 5:00 p.m. at the Smith Center. The meet at Smith continues Saturday at 9:00 a.m., preceded by a GW senior honoring.
