Ahead of the December 5th Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony at Jack Morton Auditorium in GW's Media and Public Affairs Building, located at 805 21st Street NW, GW Athletics will profile each of the six inductees in the 2025 Class.
Today we look at volleyball standout Lauren Whyte ('13), whose well-rounded time in the District paved the way for a lasting impact worthy of Hall of Fame distinction. Â
A four-time All-Atlantic 10 honoree, Whyte ranks second in GW history with 1,625 career kills, trailing only NCAA all-time leader Svetlana Vtyurina in the record books. A two-time team captain and three-time Academic All-Conference selection, Whyte helped lead GW to a pair of A-10 Championship appearances during her 2009–12 career, highlighted by a 20-win season in 2011.
Equally accomplished in the classroom, Whyte earned a degree in Computational Mathematics while serving as a Student-Athlete Advisory Committee representative and member of the Leadership Academy.
Following her collegiate career, Whyte fulfilled a childhood dream of living abroad, competing professionally for five seasons across Switzerland, the Philippines and Austria. Her international success reflected the same work ethic and adaptability that defined her time in Foggy Bottom.
