GW Athletics Mourns Loss of Volleyball Assistant Coach Brianna Barry

The GW Athletics family and the entire George Washington University community mourn today the loss of Brianna Barry. An assistant coach with the volleyball program, Bri will be deeply missed. Her ever-present smile lit up the room and her boundless energy and zest for life was infectious. She was an All-American and Hall of Famer at Florida State and a professional volleyball player before becoming a coach, but she was an even better human. A loving daughter and friend to all, Bri will always be in our hearts, and her family and their wishes for privacy at this time will be in our prayers."It is with the heaviest of hearts that we remember Bri," said Director of Athletics Tanya Vogel. "The joy that she brought to our department was immeasurable. Bri was full of life and her vibrance made her a favorite of everybody that had the pleasure of knowing her. We are hurting for her family, our student-athletes who thrived in her presence, and our staff and campus community who she touched."
