Name: Faith Blethen
"We have benefited so much in our Team Impact relationship with Mikaylah, and I'm happy we've consistently stayed in touch virtually with her and her family throughout the summer. We also love that being in D.C. gives our players the ability to engage in our community while, of course, staying socially distant and wearing their masks. Attending the March on Washington is something they will remember the rest of their lives."
My favorite course I've taken at GW is...
Hometown: Boothbay, Maine
Year: Sophomore
Hometown: Hanover, Md.
Year: Redshirt sophomore
Major: Civil Engineering
Faith Blethen and Mayowa Taiwo have been selected as the Colonials of the Week for their recent off-the-court efforts leading GW women's basketball. Blethen and Taiwo have spearheaded the program's relationship with their Team Impact teammate, Mikaylah, as well as led the group conversation on social justice issues, turning their discussion into action.
"Mayowa and Faith are always visible displays of Discipline and Excellence, both on and off the court," head coach Jennifer Rizzotti said. "They have taken great pride in representing all the best things about GW, leading with their service to others and using their voices as passionate athlete activists in the fight for racial equality.
