Iott Named A-10 Co-Player of the Week

Senior outside also tabbed Colonial of the Week
WASHINGTON - Fresh off her career performance on Saturday against George Mason, GW volleyball senior outside hitter Skylar Iott was named the A-10 Co-Player of the Week as well as the Colonial of the Week.
Iott established a new career-best with 33 kills in the Buff & Blue's five-set comeback triumph over George Mason to open league play. The Ida, Mich., native also set a new personal best with 37 points thanks to three aces, two block assists and eight digs. Her .321 attack percentage on 81 swings was her best performance of the campaign.
Iott led the Colonials back from a 2-0 set deficit, starting with a rally from down 18-12 in the third set. A kill at that juncture ignited a 13-2 run for GW to come back for the set three win. Iott then registered nine kills in the fourth set and dominated the fifth set, accounting for 10 of the Colonials' 15 points in the tiebreaker.
Overall, Iott's 33 kills marked the first time a Colonial has recorded at least 30 kills in a match since Chidima Osuchukwu had 30 against Dayton in 2014.
