Colonials claimed a third straight A-10 title

Event: Atlantic 10 Championships
GW men's swimming and diving won its third straight Atlantic 10 title on Saturday, securing the three-peat in dominant fashion.
The Colonials piled up 782 points over the course of the four-day meet at the SPIRE Institute in Ohio, their highest total on this run of championships. They got there by winning 22 medals, 14 of them gold, with 20 different individual scorers in all.
GW saved its best for last, earning nine medals Saturday. The Buff and Blue swept the podium in the 1,650- and 100-yard freestyle events before finishing with a victory in the 400-yard freestyle in program-record time.
Moritz Fath was named the meet's Most Outstanding Performer after taking six gold medals. The junior from Germany set A-10 records en route to victories in the 200- and 500-yard freestyle events and a new GW mark in the 1,650 free.
Peter Nachtwey earned Most Outstanding Diver honors with a gold on the 3-meter board and a silver on 1-meter. The sophomore's victory was the first for a GW male diver since 1994.
In addition, Emils Pone (three) and Alexander Auster (two) claimed individual gold for the Colonials, who also swept all five relays for the week.
