
GW Women's Soccer Ranked Fourth in NSCAA Regional Poll

NSCAA NCAA Division I Women's Mid-Atlantic Poll
WASHINGTON - The George Washington women's soccer team has earned a No. 4 ranking in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) NCAA Division I Mid-Atlantic Poll after the second week of competition.
The Colonials (3-0-0) have gotten off to a hot start in 2016 and climbed to the No. 4 spot in the regional rankings after a 3-1 defeat of LSU on the road last week.
GW ranks fourth in the region behind UNC Wilmington (3-0-1), Hofstra (3-1-0) and Princeton (2-0-0). Drexel (3-1-0), Dartmouth (2-0-0), William & Mary (2-1-0), Saint Louis (3-0-0), Bucknell (3-0-0) and Saint Joseph's (2-1-0) round out the top 10.
Senior MacKenzie Cowley leads the Colonials with three goals - one in each of GW's matches. Junior Brittany Cooper ranks second on the squad with five points on two goals and an assist, while rookie Deena DeSilva has added a goal of her own on the young season.
The Colonials host UMBC on Thursday afternoon before welcoming Arkansas to the GW Soccer Field on the Mount Vernon Campus.
