Porras Breaks Record in No. 8 GW's 5-4 Loss to No. 10 Dartmouth

ANNAPOLIS, Md. - George Washington women's squash senior Anna Gabriela Porras moved into sole possession of first place on the career-wins list but it was not enough as the No. 8 Colonials fell, 5-4, to No. 10 Dartmouth on Friday at the United States Naval Academy.
Porras' 46th career win came in three games over Jacqueline Barnes at the No. 1 position on the ladder. It also marked the 40th time in her career that she has prevailed in three games.
The trio of Junior Breanne Flynn, sophomore Abby Shonrock and senior Emely Levyn also earned sweeps to contribute to the Colonials' team score. Flynn easily handled Victoria Dewey by scores of 11-6, 11-7, 11-5 at No. 2 while Shonrock cruised to an 11-6, 11-6, 11-6 win over Lydie McKenzie at No. 4. Levyn followed suit at No. 6 with a 11-3, 11-7, 11-9 win over Emma Roberts.
GW enters a month-long hiatus for final exams and holiday break before returning to action on January 16 with a doubleheader against Williams College and Bates College in Massachusetts.
