Swimming & Diving Faltered in Tri-Meet

WASHINGTON, DC (January 28) - The George Washington swimming and diving team fell to the University of Maryland-Baltimore County and East Carolina on Sunday at the UMBC Natatorium.
Junior diver Kelly Danylyshyn-Adams (La Jolla, CA/La Jolla) succeeded in her pursuit for first in the 1 meter diving competition. She won by over five points, scoring a total 204.25. She also performed well in 3 meter diving, placing second with a score of 233.35. The women's 400-yd free relay team just fell short of first by 0:00.32 seconds to win that event. Senior Jocelyn Finch (Olympia, WA/Olympia), juniors Shannon Lynch (Medford, NJ/Lenape) and Ashley Orchard (Tamarac, FL/Bradenton Christian), and sophomore Kristen Fagley (Ft. Lauderdale, FL/Westminster Academy) came in with a time of 3:42.36, placing second and achieving GW's best women's 400-yd free relay time of the season.
The women's team next competes at Richmond on Wednesday, January 30 at 4:00. Focus then turns to the Verizon Atlantic 10 Championships in Buffalo, NY from February 19-24.
