Talbot and Irish Join GW Swimming & Diving Staff
WASHINGTON, DC (Sept. 24, 2001) - Eric Talbot and Krista Irish have been added to the George Washington University Swimming & Diving staff, Senior Associate Athletic Director/Senior Woman Administrator Mary Jo Warner has announced. Talbot has been hired as the Assistant Swimming Coach and Irish has been named the Diving Coach.
Talbot comes to GW from Brigham Young University, where he swam for the Mountain West Conference Champion Cougars last season. A 2001 BYU graduate, Talbot graduated with a degree in International Studies.
Talbot was a Utah state champion in individual and relay events and he was an All-America Honorable Mention in high school. He is pursuing his master's degree in international affairs in GW's Elliott School.
Irish joins GW after spending part of the last year as an administrative assistant at the Department of Health and Human Services in Rockville, MD. Prior to that, Irish was a volunteer peer counselor at the University of Maryland Help Center in College Park.
A 2000 University of Maryland graduate, Irish earned bachelor's degrees in both history and philosophy. Irish spent five years as the diving coach at the Old Georgetown Club in Bethesda, MD where she provided skills development to divers ages 3-18. Irish also spent three years as an assistant dive coach at the Montgomery Dive Club in both Silver Spring and Rockville, MD where she worked with divers ages 6-17.
