Women's Swimming Earns GW Team Academic Award
WASHINGTON, DC (May 29, 2001) -- The George Washington University's women's swimming and diving team has received the University's Women's Team Academic Excellence Award , head coach Dan Rhinehart has announced.
The women's team attained the highest combined grade point average (3.365) of any women's varsity team at GW. This honor follows the women's team receiving a "Superior" ranking based on their combined grade point average by the College Swimming Coaches Association of America in March. The combined grade point average of the women's swimming and diving team is the sixth highest out of all Division I teams.
The women's team finished the season with a 10-5-1 overall record and finished second at the Atlantic 10 Championships in February in Buffalo, NY.
