Fagley Earns First Atlantic 10 Swimming Honor

WASHINGTON, DC (Feb. 6, 2001) — George Washington freshman swimmer Kristen
Fagley (Westminster Academy/Ft. Lauderdale, FL) was named Atlantic 10 Women’s
Rookie of the Week, the conference has announced.
Fagley won two events against the University of Richmond in GW’s only meet last week. She won the 200-yd (1:55.84) and 500-yd (5:07.40) freestyle events. Fagley also finished second in the 200-yd backstroke (2:09.77). Her times in the 200-yd and 500-yd freestyle are both the fourth fastest in the Atlantic 10 this season, while her time in the 200-yd backstroke was the sixth fastest in the conference.
Fagley’s honor marks the eighth time this season that a GW swimmer has been acknowledged by the Atlantic 10 in their weekly awards.
Fagley and her teammates return to the pool on February 15 as they travel to Buffalo, NY to take part in the Atlantic 10 Championships.
