Women's Swimming and Diving Defeats Richmond

Freshman Kristen Fagley (Ft. Lauderdale, FL/Westminster Academy), freshman Ruth Dubyel (West Point, NY/James I. O'Neill) and junior Nell Friar (Oak Ridge, TN/Oak Ridge) all won multiple events to help lead the Colonials. Fagley won the 200-yd freestyle (1:55.84) and the 500-yd freestyle (5:07.40). Dubyel won the 100-yd backstroke (1:00.54) and the 100-yd butterfly (:58.70). Friar continued her stellar season by sweeping the breaststroke events. She won the 100-yd breaststroke in 1:07.09 and the 200-yd in 2:26.68. Other winners included junior Laura Clemens (Warwick, NY/Warwick Valley), who won the 200-yd backstroke (2:09.19), senior Lynne McCormick (Columbus, OH/Upper Arlington), who captured the 3 meter diving event with a score of 233.400, Jocelyn Finch (Olympia, WA/Olympia), who won the 200-yd individual medley (2:11.26) and freshman Crystal Freeman (Ft. Dix, NJ/Holy Cross), who won the 1000-yd freestyle (10:36.79).
The women's team returns to the pool on February 15 as they join the men's team at the Atlantic 10 Championships in Buffalo, NY.
