Volleyball Advances to A-10 Championship

DAYTON, OH (Nov. 18) GW took another step toward the A-10 championship by defeating host Dayton, 15-6, 10-15, 15-9, 15-11, in the first semifinal round of the 2000 Verizon Atlantic 10 Championship. The Colonials face the winner of the Temple-Xavier match Sunday, November 18 at 1:00 p.m. at Dayton's Frericks Center.
Senior Tracee Brown double-doubled with a match-high 31 kills and 16 digs to lead the Colonials who hit .231 as a team compared to 194 for the Flyers.
Senior Suzana Manole also had a big match with 18 kills and a match-high 24 digs while Jill Levey had an errorless hitting performance with eight kills in 13 attacks for a .615 hitting percentage, 59 assists and 11 digs. Sophomore Abby Ernst added seven block assists in the two-hour, five-minute match.
Sierra Ashley and Xinxin Zhang led the Flyers with 14 kills each while Ashley added a team-high 18 digs.
