White Garners Atlantic 10 Swimming Honor

WASHINGTON, DC (Nov. 15) - George Washington freshman swimmer Ryan White (Silver Spring, MD/John F. Kennedy) was named Atlantic 10 Men's Rookie of the Week, the conference has announced.
White has won every individual event he has raced in this season. His victories include the 200-yd and 500-yd freestyle events against Duquesne (10/28), Navy (11/8) and La Salle (11/11). White also claimed the 100-yd and 200-yd free against Virginia Tech on November 4. The local product from Silver Spring has also combined with his teammates to win two relay events. White holds the fastest Atlantic 10 time this season in the 500-yd free (4:47.24) and the second-fastest time in the 200-yd free (1:42.82).
White and the rest of the men's and women's swimming and diving teams travel to Chapel Hill, NC, this weekend to compete in the Nike Cup on the campus of the University of North Carolina.
