GW Men and Women Defeat La Salle

On the men's side, senior Juan Bocanegra (Miami, FL/Gulliver Prep Academy) won two individual events, the 200-y IM and the 100-y free, as well as the 400-y free relay. Junior Wes Teter (Farmer's Branch, TX/RL Turner High) also won two events and a relay event, the 200-y free, 500-y free and the 400-y free relay. Senior Tim Champney (Seminole, FL/Cypress Lake) finished first in two individual events, swimming in a time of 1:55.87 in the 200-y back and winning the 50-y free.
Senior Jennifer Skinner (Liberty, MO/Liberty) claimed three individual events: the 200-y free, 500-y free and 1000-y free. Sophomore Jocelyn Finch (Olympia, WA/Olympia High) won the 200-y IM and the 200-y breaststroke, along with the 400-y free relay.
The men improve to 2-1, while the women move to 3-1.
GW's next meet is Saturday as the teams travel to George Mason to face William & Mary at noon.
