Mike Toomey

Mike Toomey graduated from St. John's High School in Washington and Montgomery Community College before attending GW. He lettered twice in baseball for the Colonials earning MVP honors in 1974 as well as being named the University's outstanding senior athlete. He returned the following year as the school's baseball coach and in five seasons compiled a 102-82 mark. His '79 team won the ECAC championship and earned a NCAA Tournament baseball appearance. After a season (1981) as manager of the Alexandria Dukes, a minor league club affiliated with the Pittsburgh Pirates, Toomey joined the San Francisco Giants organization as the scouting supervisor for the Mid-Atlantic Region. Toomy is currently Special Assistant to KC Royals general manager Dayton Moore.
