Cathy Joens

Cathy Joens '04 was a two-time Atlantic 10 Player of the Year in women's basketball and an honorable mention All-American in 2004. Joens graduated as the best three-point shooter in school history as she set program records for three-pointers in a career with 291, as well as single-season and career three-point field goal percentage. She averaged 14.7 points per game in her career and left GW as the university's third all-time leading scorer with 1,802 career points. Joens was selected to the A-10 All-Conference First Team three times and was named Player of the Year in 2003 and 2004. Joens was a member of four NCAA Tournament teams, including the 2003 Colonials' squad which won the Atlantic 10 Championship. A two-time team MVP, Joens was drafted by the New York Liberty of the WNBA and played two years for the Chicago Sky as part of a successful professional basketball career.
